The Lights CalledThe soft shillings of wings flapping echoed through the air. Bright lavender wings on the outside, duller on the inside, curled up and flattened the best they could against a back, and the owner of said wings silently paced down an arid, rocky path outside. She shivered despite Halcandra typically being very hot. Only bubbling lava and stars burned in the distance to light the night on the planet.
Her fur spiked up in qualms as she stopped and glared at was once a battlefield through a slanted X-cut mask. She just stared back and slowly backed away. Nothing was there, but she recognized it. The tall, black rock was a reminder of the dreadful things that went down there. She shook her head slightly in dismay, clutching the grip of her lance.
